Pete Petersen & the Porkpie Septet returns to the Bossanova Ballroom for one night only with special guest Heather O’Brien from Spokane, Washington!

Friday night at the Bossanova Ballroom will bring us back to a time when the venue, formerly known as the Viscount Ballroom, had live swing every Friday. On Friday, March 5th the newly renovated Bossanova Ballroom with it’s spacious cherry floors will open its doors to Swing Dancers to come and enjoy live music by Pete Petersen’s Porkpie Septet. Pete’s band will be joined by Vocalist Heather O’brien who comes to us on loan from the band 6 Foot Swing of Spokane.

If you are a dancer that was fortunate enough to have danced at the Viscount during it’s time, you’d remember Pete Petersen as a regular musician in many of the jazz combos that played at the Viscount. In more recent years Pete has been more prominent on the national scene with gigs at the Chicago Swing Music Festival, Boise Idaho’s Gene Harris Jazz Festival, Spokane’s “Think Swing” festival, and a Main-stage appearance at the 2009 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival this past summer. We’re looking forward to having Pete once again on the stage at the Bossanova and we’re looking forward to having a swing dance once again at this beautiful venue.
