Russell Bruner is the “Hulking Dandy” of Swing Time. Russell Bruner brings thrilling acrobatics and dance expertise to the hottest halls in the Nation. Both in solo routines and teamed up with his main dance partner Sugar Kane; AWOL acrobats Jessica Hoage, Paulina Munoz, and Brandy Guthery; Burlesque Artists Pink Lady, Karolina Lux, among others; and Noah Mickens of the Wanderlust Circus; Russell has devised a diverse repertoire of astonishing acts that stand without equal in the new Variete. Susan is one of Portland’s brightest performers. She dances regularly with her partner Russell Bruner and also with the Volcano Vixens for the Strange Tones blues band. Her dance training began at an early age. After several years of studying and performing classical ballet, tap and jazz with Pacific Festival Ballet Academy and Portland Dance Academy she began to explore the world of partner dancing, which includes Argentine Tango, Blues, Balboa, Ballroom and Lindy Hop. With Russ, she has placed in dance competitions internationally and nationally. Locally, she works with Swing Time to organize dance events at the hottest dance halls and clubs in Portland. Karynn Radtke was introduced to the world of dance through her big sister during high school, studying lyrical jazz. Later, she leapt into swing at the Crystal Ballroom, literally, as she was inspired by the high flying aerials. Her love of air steps continue to this day and she also enjoys exploring the finer points of Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa. Karynn and Daniel met while dancing at the Viscount Ballroom and have been dancing together for over 7 years. Karynn currently manages the swingtimepdx website and works with Swing Time to help organize and promote its numerous events and as a performer in the Swing Time dance troupe.
